Advertising helps support St.George Direct and its Southern Utah community coverage. This policy explains how commercial material is identified and separated from independent editorial content.
Clear labeling
Paid articles, sponsored features, partner content and other compensated placements must be labeled with clear language such as “Sponsored,” “Paid Partnership,” “Advertising” or “Business Feature.” The label should be visible to readers before or near the main content.
Editorial independence
Payment does not guarantee favorable independent coverage. Advertisers may review sponsored material for factual accuracy about their own business, but they may not present paid claims as independent reporting.
Business features and local profiles
Some business stories may be produced as paid promotional features. These pages should identify their commercial nature. Unpaid editorial coverage is selected separately based on relevance, newsworthiness and community interest.
Claims and responsibility
Advertisers are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their offers, pricing, testimonials, licenses and product or service claims. St.George Direct may reject or remove advertising that is deceptive, discriminatory, unsafe or inconsistent with the publication’s standards.
Links and tracking
Advertising links may use tracking or sponsored-link attributes when appropriate. Commercial relationships do not change the canonical identity of editorial articles or the publisher entity.
