St.George Direct publishes Southern Utah local news, community information, business stories, restaurant coverage, public-safety information, development reporting and regional features. These standards explain how we work and what readers should expect.
Accuracy and verification
We aim to publish information that is accurate, clearly attributed and supported by reliable sources. Writers should verify names, dates, locations, quotations and material factual claims before publication. When information is developing or cannot be independently confirmed, the story should say so.
Sources and attribution
We identify sources whenever possible and link to useful primary documents or official information. Anonymous sources should be used only when the information serves a clear public interest and the source could face a meaningful risk from being named.
Fairness and local context
Coverage should distinguish fact from analysis, commentary and personal experience. People or organizations facing substantial criticism should have a reasonable opportunity to respond when practical. Headlines, images and social posts should accurately reflect the underlying story.
Corrections and updates
Material errors should be corrected promptly and transparently. Significant changes should be explained in a correction or update note. Routine spelling, formatting and style fixes do not require an update notice. See our Corrections Policy.
Editorial independence
Advertising relationships do not determine editorial conclusions. Paid features, sponsored content and promotional placements must be clearly labeled so readers can distinguish them from independent reporting. See our Advertising and Sponsored Content Policy.
Conflicts and transparency
Contributors should disclose material personal, financial or business relationships that could reasonably affect coverage. When firsthand experience is central to a feature or review, the article should make that perspective clear.
Reader feedback
Readers can report a possible error or raise an editorial concern through the St.George Direct contact page or by emailing admin@stgeorgedirect.com. Please include the article URL and the information that may need review.
