More than two years after one of Southern Utah’s most devastating family tragedies, newly released police footage is giving the public a closer look at the investigation that followed.
The videos include portions of Mia Bailey’s police interrogation after the June 18, 2024 killings of parents Joseph “Joe” Bailey and Gail Bailey inside their Washington City home. The footage captures investigators interviewing Bailey shortly after the shootings as they worked to piece together what had happened. (Fox News)
The murders shocked the St. George area and sparked an overnight manhunt involving multiple law enforcement agencies before Bailey was taken into custody the following morning.
The newly released footage offers additional insight into the investigation and the conversations that took place after Bailey’s arrest. What happened to the suspect?
The criminal case has since concluded.
In December 2025, Mia Bailey was sentenced after pleading guilty and mentally ill to two counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated assault. The court imposed two consecutive prison terms of 25 years to life for the murders of Joseph and Gail Bailey, meaning Bailey must serve at least 50 years before becoming eligible for parole consideration. An additional sentence was also imposed for aggravated assault. (Fox News)
