Emergency Crews Respond to Ash Creek Drive

The incident occurred just before 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Crews from the Hurricane Valley Fire District were dispatched to an area near Ash Creek Drive, located just southwest of the intersection connecting Toquerville Parkway and Toquerville Boulevard.

Upon arriving at the scene, emergency personnel confirmed that a male teenager had sustained severe, life-threatening injuries after a sudden Toquerville cliff fall of approximately 60 feet. Paramedics immediately mobilized, hiking down the steep, rocky landscape to reach the victim and administer crucial on-site medical care.

High-Angle Rope Rescue Extrication

Because of the steepness of the terrain and the sheer height of the drop, standard transport methods were impossible. Crews quickly set up a high-angle rope rescue system to safely bring the patient back up to safety.

The rescue unfolded through a series of highly technical steps:

• Stabilization: Medics stabilized the 19-year-old at the base of the cliff.
• Securing the Patient: The teen was carefully placed inside a specialized patient transport device.

To facilitate a safe emergency landing, local authorities temporarily closed down Toquerville Parkway. The flight crew took custody of the teen and airlifted him directly to St. George Regional Hospital for intensive medical treatment.
