Utah Teen Returns Home After E-Bike Accident

After a serious accident in December, 14-year-old Alli Allred is finally back home in Washington, Utah, following months of intensive medical care for her e-bike injuries.
Alli was riding her new Surron electric motorcycle, an early Christmas gift, when she collided with another e-bike near her neighborhood. Neither rider was wearing a helmet, and the crash left Alli with a critical brain injury that required extensive hospitalization.
Recovery Journey and Rehabilitation
Alli spent weeks at St. George Regional Hospital, where she focused on regaining her strength and mobility. Her father, Kelton Allred, explained that while she has made significant progress, her brain injury has affected memory and cognitive function.
“Her brain thinks she can do more than she actually can,” Kelton said, highlighting the challenges still ahead.
Recently, rehabilitation efforts have helped Alli walk again, marking an important milestone in her ongoing recovery.
Returning Home Safely
Bringing Alli home required careful planning to ensure her environment was safe. The family installed safety gates, bright tape at stair edges, a shower chair, and door sensors, while considering a stair lift for future needs.
Kelton described the balance of supporting Alli’s recovery while managing their landscaping business:
“Being self-employed, losing work, and caring for Alli has been a roller-coaster, but having her home makes it worth it.”
A Message from Alli
Despite the long road ahead, Alli remains positive and has a clear message for other young riders:
“Wear your helmets. I didn’t.”
Her story has inspired many in the community, and a GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help with ongoing medical and rehabilitation costs.
