Downtown Hurricane along State Street is experiencing significant expansion, bringing new local eateries, entertainment venues, civic facilities, and community parks from the State Street dip all the way to the LaVerkin Bridge.
New Dining and Retail Along State Street
A wide variety of new dining spots, specialty food options, and retail updates are opening up along the main commercial strip:

Golden West Credit Union: Located above the dip on State Street, the new branch is officially completed and open for business.

Back Nine Golf: Now open in the Ace Hardware plaza, offering an indoor golf simulator experience with courses playable in any weather.

Riggatti’s Woodfire Pizza: The local favorite opened its newest location in the Ace Hardware plaza, expanding its footprint across Southern Utah.

The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill: Operating as the first Greek restaurant in Hurricane, serving Mediterranean dishes next door to Riggatti’s.

Slurpin’ Ramen: Currently under construction in the same plaza, bringing a dedicated ramen shop to downtown.

Loop Bagels: A local family-owned bagel concept preparing to open in September 2026, featuring fresh house bagels, schmears, and breakfast and lunch sandwiches with an East Coast spin.

Culver’s: Under construction in front of Hurricane High School on the site of the former Buck’s Ace Hardware.

Ernie’s 2 Convenience Store: Completely demolished and rebuilt from the ground up, now fully reopened to local traffic.

Canyon Eatery: Located near the LaVerkin Bridge, this newly opened upscale-casual Italian steakhouse features fresh pasta, artisan pizza, steaks, seafood, and a full lounge bar.
Entertainment, Civic Plans, and Commercial Growth
Downtown Hurricane is also seeing investments in indoor entertainment and long-term municipal facilities:

Coral Cliffs Family Entertainment Center: Construction is moving quickly on a 40,000-square-foot facility adjacent to Coral Cliffs Cinema 8. The center will feature 18 bowling lanes, a large arcade, a virtual reality arena, indoor-outdoor mini golf, axe throwing, crazy darts, and a scratch kitchen. Opening is targeted for late September or early October 2026.

Downtown City Center Master Plan: City leaders have selected a design team to build a new city hall and police station on the property behind Lin’s Market. Construction is scheduled to begin by the end of 2026, with an estimated completion target in 2028.

Abundance Family Therapy: Construction framing is complete on a new building behind Jimmy John’s for the mental health practice, which offers specialized relational, ketamine-assisted, and accelerated resolution therapies.

Silver Line Trailers: Signage is up behind Jimmy John’s for a new commercial facility, with project details expected soon.
Community Parks and Recreation Upgrades
Hurricane City has completed several major parks and recreation upgrades while advancing new community facilities:

Hurricane Bike Park: Now fully open to the public after a community-driven build. The park features dedicated lines for balance bikes and beginners, novice jump lines with gaps, and an expert line used by local pro riders.

Rebuilt City Pickleball Courts: Replaced with eight post-tension slab courts, updated shade canopies, and new lighting systems.

Four-Court Gymnasium Expansion: The city completed a four-court multi-use facility for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball tournaments, featuring an elevated indoor walking track above the courts.

Hurricane Aquatic Center: Construction continues on a new indoor aquatic facility equipped with a competition pool for swim meets, a family play zone, and diving boards. Expected completion is set for June 2027.

Veterans Memorial Park: Community-funded construction is officially underway to build a dedicated memorial park honoring veterans.

Future Skate Park: Planning and funding efforts are actively underway for a future skate park adjacent to the new bike park.
